Hoping positive thinking might change the weather forecast, tennis fans Art and Nate Scinta were alone in the upper deck of Arthur Ashe Stadium on Sept. 6, 2011. The entire day and night of action were postponed in New York.

Saving a seat
Although it can hold close to 23,000 spectators, Arthur Ashe Stadium was virtually empty as rain cancelled every match scheduled for Day 9 at the 2011 U.S. Open.
Although their efforts were pretty much in vain with the ever-continuing rain in New York, some court attendants took the time to squeegee off a court.
