MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) Mike Conley matched his career high with 31 points, and the Memphis Grizzlies used a fourth-quarter burst to overtake the Phoenix Suns for a 104-99 victory on Friday night.
Zach Randolph had 20 points and 13 rebounds for Memphis, while Ed Davis had 10 points and a career-high 17 rebounds, part of the Grizzlies outrebounding the Suns 53-44. Mike Miller finished with 11 points. Randolph tied his season high in assists with seven.
Goran Dragic led the Suns with 21 points and eight assists, connecting on six of his 10 shots. Markieff Morris came off the Phoenix bench for 17 points. Gerald Green had 12 points and P.J. Tucker finished with 11. Channing Frye scored 10 points.
The Phoenix loss came on a day when the Suns announced that guard Eric Bledsoe, the team's second-leading scorer, is out indefinitely after knee surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee earlier in the day.
Phoenix held an 88-86 advantage with about 6 minutes left when Memphis scored seven unanswered points, including five by Conley to take the lead for good.
The lead was built as the Suns struggled from the field in the final quarter, connecting on only 9 of 27 shots, including 2 of 11 from beyond the arc.
In addition to outrebounding the Suns, Memphis held a 52-32 advantage in the paint.
The Suns shot 52 percent in the first half to carry a 55-48 lead into the break. Dragic had 13 points, connecting on both his 3-pointers. Frye had 10 for Phoenix.
Conley scored 14 to lead Memphis, while Randolph already had 12 points and seven rebounds.
The Suns started the game 8 of 11 from the field and were still at 67 percent as they built their biggest lead of the half to 10.
The Suns 3-point accuracy stretched into the early part of the second half. Phoenix opened the third quarter hitting four of its five shots from outside the arc, and the only one the Suns missed during the stretch was a wild one from Green, who hit two before that shot.
At that point, Phoenix had made 9 of 14 from 3-point range and the lead was at nine.
Memphis used Conley's eight points in the quarter and outscored the Suns 16-7 to tie the game at 74 entering the fourth.
