The San Francisco 49ers today announced they have signed S Dashon Goldson to a one-year deal.

Goldson (6-2, 200) enters his fifth NFL season after being selected in the fourth round (126th overall) of the 2007 NFL Draft by the 49ers. He has played in 51 games (34 starts), registering 254 tackles, five interceptions (one returned for a touchdown), three sacks, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and 15 passes defensed.

In 2010, Goldson started all 16 games and registered his first career touchdown on a 39-yard interception return vs. Seattle (121210). In 2009, he set career highs in tackles (114), interceptions (four), sacks (two) and forced fumbles (three), while starting all 16 games. Goldson mostly saw action on special teams in his first two seasons, recording 10 special teams tackles in both 2007 and 2008.

The 26-year old native of Carson, CA, starred collegiately at Washington.
