49ers proud to join ‘It Gets Better' anti-bullying project

It's almost ironic that the 49ers and their mauling defense are the first NFL team to sign on to the anti-bullying project "It Gets Better," but given their geographical roots, San Francisco's support of LGBT youths is only natural.

Donte Whitner, who will always be remembered by 49ers fans for his bone-jarring hit on Pierre Thomas in the 2011 NFC Divisional playoff game, is among four defensive players who appear in the video. The other three -- Ahmad Brooks, Isaac Sopoaga and Ricky Jean Francois -- help send the message to young persons in crisis that their lives will get better.
