Veteran long-snapper Ryan Pontbriand, whom the 49ers signed in February to compete with two-time Pro Bowl selection Brian Jennings, is out of the competition.The 49ers released Pontbriand on Friday after he struggled with an array of bad snaps during the team's minicamp practices this week.The Cleveland Browns released Pontbriand, a nine-year veteran, last season. While with the Browns, Pontbriand was coached by current 49ers special-teams coordinator Brad Seely.
