Leon Hall is bringing his 10 years of NFL experience to Santa Clara.

The former Bengals cornerback has signed a one-year deal with the 49ers, the team announced Tuesday.

News of the deal was first reported by ESPN and Hall's agent.

To make room for Hall on the roster, cornerback Asa Jackson was placed on injured reserve.

After spending the first nine seasons of his career with the Bengals, Hall played in 12 games for the New York Giants in 2016.

During his 10-year NFL career, Hall has 27 interceptions and returned three for touchdowns. Last season, he picked off one pass, forced one fumble and recorded two sacks.

The 49ers are familiar with Hall, who worked out a couple times for the team this offseason.
