The 49ers on Monday waived cornerback Prince Charles Iworah off injured reserve.

Iworah appeared in the 49ers’ first game during the exhibition season. He sustained a quadriceps injury that sidelined him for the final three preseason games. He was waived/injured on Sept. 1 as the 49ers trimmed their roster to 53 players before the start of the regular season.

He was not claimed, therefore he reverted back to the injured reserve list, where he spent the first 16 weeks of the regular season.

Iworah, a seventh-round draft pick in 2016 from Western Kentucky, appeared in one game as a rookie.

Only two players -- defensive linemen DeForest Buckner and Ronald Blair -- from Trent Baalke’s 2016 draft class of 11 players remains on the 49ers’ 53-man roster. Two other players – guard Joshua Garnett and wide receiver Aaron Burbridge – spent the season on injured reserve.
