The Fourth of July brought good news to the San Francisco 49ers' efforts to erect a new stadium, when Sacramento Superior Court Judge Lloyd Connelly ruled Tuesday that the city could not yet use the 30 million they attempted to pull from the stadium funding in other areas, according to a report by the San Jose Mercury News.
There is a July 27 follow-up hearing set, and the report indicates the judge may rule in favor of the 49ers.
The 49ers filed a lawsuit last Wednesday to prevent a Santa Clara County Oversight Board from reneging on the commitment to fund 30 million for the new NFL stadium under construction in Santa Clara.

It all started when Santa Clara County pulled 30 million in tax funds that was originally set aside the for team's new stadium, and attempted to reallocate it towards education.
The 30 million in question is not expected to affect stadium construction either way. The team broke ground on the state-of-the art facility in April and they are still targeting 2014 as the new stadium's inaugural season.
