HOUSTON -- Starting outside linebackers Aldon Smith and Ahmad Brooks did not make the trip with the 49ers for Saturday's exhibition game against the Houston Texans.Parys Haralson and Eric Bakhtiari are slated to start at outside linebacker in Saturday's game. Haralson, a starter a year ago, is in line to be the 49ers' No. 3 outside linebacker this season. Bakhtiari is competing for a place on the 53-man roster.
Smith, who sustained a right hip bruise in the 49ers' exhibition opener last Friday against the Minnesota Vikings, was last seen walking without a limp. The 49ers would like to get Smith back on the field for next week's game at the Denver Broncos.FIVE 49ERS TO WATCH: PersonRobinsonJenkinsOwusu
Ahmad Brooks (left knee) missed the past four practices but he is expected to return soon.Other 49ers who did not make the trip to Houston include tight end Delanie Walker (right knee), cornerback Perrish Cox (leg), linebacker Cam Johnson (knee) and receiver Joe Hastings (right leg).
