Harbaugh, 49ers keep eye on weather report

SANTA CLARA -- Coach Jim Harbaugh is keeping a close eye on the weather forecast Sunday for the 49ers' NFC Championship Game against the New York Giants. And he hopes if there's rain, as expected, on Sunday that the forecast also holds true that will allow the 49ers to practice in inclement conditions, too.
"Yeah, it's worth following and looking at," Harbaugh said Wednesday of the forecast. "There's a possibility of rain tomorrow (Thursday), Friday and Saturday and Sunday. (I) wouldn't mind getting some work in those kinds of conditions if it does play out that way."The 49ers have not played in the rain this season. The tarp was on the field at Candlestick Park leading up to the 49ers' Nov. 20 game against the Arizona Cardinals. But the turf was in good shape, and rain was not an issue during that game.Rookie running back Kendall Hunter said he would not change the way he runs if Candlestick Park turns into a quagmire."I haven't changed my style since I've been playing football," Hunter said. "Maybe I'll change my cleats, but that's about it."
