Reuben Foster out for 49ers vs. Eagles; OT Brown also will not play

PHILADELPHIA -- Linebacker Reuben Foster will not play Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles after getting limited work during the week due to ribs and ankle injuries.

Foster will miss his sixth game of the season. He did not play in Weeks 2 through 6 due to a high right ankle sprain he sustained in the season opener against the Carolina Panthers. Last week, he sustained a ribs injury that forced him out of action in the second half against the Dallas Cowboys.

The 49ers will likely counter with Ray-Ray Armstrong, Brock Coyle and Eric Reid at the inside linebacker positions to compensate for the loss of Foster.

The 49ers will also not have the services of right tackle Trent Brown, who sustained a concussion last week in the second half against the Cowboys. He did not practice this week and did not make it through the return-to-play protocol in order to be cleared to play against the Eagles. Veteran Garry Gilliam is scheduled to start in place of Brown.

Fullback Kyle Juszczyk returns to action on Sunday after being inactive the previous two games with a back injury.

Veteran cornerback Leon Hall is active for the first time with the 49ers. He will likely see time when the 49ers deploy extra defensive backs with nickel back K'Waun Williams out with a quadriceps injury.
