With a good showing on the practice squad, Hall could end up on the 49ers' 53-man roster because of his value as a return man. He did not lose a fumble.Ted Ginn, who sustained a left wrist injury early in the 49ers' victory Sunday over the New Orleans Saints and later muffed a punt, will continue to handle the return duties. Currently, the 49ers' backup figures to be Perrish Cox, who began 2010 as the Denver Broncos' return man until he lost a fumble early in the season. The 49ers will have an open roster spot on their 53-man roster when Williams is placed on injured reserve with a torn anterior-cruciate ligament in his left knee.Ricardo Lockette, a 6-foot-2 speedster, has been the only wide receiver on the 49ers' practice squad for most of this season.
