Inge begins Triple-A stint with River Cats

It appears Manny Ramirez isn't the only player to watch in Triple-A Sacramento. Third baseman Brandon Inge will join the River Cats Friday night as part of a short rehab assignment.

Inge will playing third base and batting second behind Manny Ramirez, who is batting third.Inge, who was placed on the 15-day DL on May 13 with a strained right groin, hit .227 with four homers and 17 RBIs in 11 starts at third base for the A's.If all goes well in his rehab stint in Sacramento, Inge could be activated when eligible to return on May 28. He has been participating in all baseball related activities the last few days at the Oakland Coliseum.
On Tuesday, Inge said his strained right groin had progressed to the the point that it only hurt when he ran full speed, and didn't bother him when hitting or fielding. As a result, A's trainer Nick Paparesta had been putting him through running exercises.
