The A's are joining the Hurricane Sandy relief effort. The Oakland A's Community Fund will accept monetary donations to help those affected along the Eastern seaboard, sending proceeds to the Salvation Army for mobile feeding units, shelters and clean-up kits. The A's will also fund the Humane Society of the United States, which will help animal rescue teams in their post-Sandy efforts.

Hurricane Sandy has already claimed 55 lives in America and left an initial estimate of damages running in the range of 30-50 billion.

On the sports front, the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets NBA game scheduled for Thursday was rescheduled for Monday, Nov. 26.
