Giants outfielder Pat Burrell, making his second rehab start for the Single-A San Jose Giants in as many nights, went 1-for-4 with a two-out RBI. He struck out once. Again, Burrell was the designated hitter and batted three.

The Giants beat the A's Single-A affiliate, the Stockton Ports, 11-5.

"It would be nice to get some at bats for him so if something happened, which happened last road trip," Giants manager Bruce Bochy said after the Giants' win on Wednesday. "He would be ready with some ABs under him." Bochy also stated Burrell would have the day off on Thursday.

Burrell was placed on the 15-day disabled on Aug. 3 because of a bone spur in his right foot.
