Undefeated light heavyweight kingpin Andre Ward is apparently in no hurry to rematch Sergey Kovalev, expressing his position on Twitter Wednesday afternoon.
A lot of talk about the details of a rematch. Nothing is official or taking place until you hear something from my side. It's that simple.— Andre S.O.G. Ward (@andreward) March 1, 2017
The other side can kick & scream all they want. They can leak info until the cows come home. They. Are. Not. In. Control. And their mad. Lol— Andre S.O.G. Ward (@andreward) March 1, 2017
All these old boxing tactics of having their friends in the industry write disparaging things doesn't move my team. We are focused.— Andre S.O.G. Ward (@andreward) March 1, 2017
They other side is mad because they are not in control. Well, as far as I'm concerned, they can stay mad. Lol. Enjoy the rest of your day ✌🏽— Andre S.O.G. Ward (@andreward) March 1, 2017
The Oakland native won a controversial – yet unanimous – decision in their WBA/INF/WBO title unification bout back in November.
Ward is the host of a new web series on CSNBayArea.com, called CSN Fights.
