‘Cuse accusers push for new NY sex abuse laws

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) -- The two former ball boys who accuse a fired Syracuse University assistant basketball coach with molesting them decades ago are lobbying for a New York state law that would give victims more time to report sex abuse.Bobby Davis and Michael Lang appeared with their lawyer Gloria Allred at a news conference Tuesday afternoon near the state Capitol. They are pushing for a bill that has languished in the Legislature to create a one-year grace period for filing sex abuse charges in cases where the statute of limitations has expired.Davis said he's lobbying for the bill because he wants to protect children.Davis and Lang accuse ex-coach Bernie Fine of molesting them. Fine, who was fired in November, has denied any wrongdoing and has not been charged.
