Dwight Howard graduated from Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy in 2004 as one of the nation's top basketball prospects.
2004 -- Dwight signs with Orlando
After being selected in the first round of the 2004 NBA Draft, Howard signed a contract with the Orlando Magic at the age of 18.
2004-'05 -- Rookie high against Clippers
Howard scored 20 or more points 11 times in his rookie season. He had a high of 29 points against the Clippers on March 16, adding 12 rebounds in a 110-102 loss.
2007-'08 -- Howard makes All-NBA first team
Howard made the All-NBA first team in his fourth NBA season. He averaged 20.7 points, 14.2 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game.
2009-'10 -- Division leaders
Howard led the Magic to the top of the Southeast Division in the 2009-'10 season. The magic won their first eight games of the postseason.
2010-'11 -- Defensive Player of the Year
Howard earned his third consecutive Defensive Player of the Year award in the 2010-2011 season, adding a career-best of 22.9 points per game.
2011 -- Rebounding machine
Howard recorded 20-plus rebounds in three consecutive games from Dec. 18-21. He became the youngest player in NBA history to amass 7,000 career rebounds on March 1 vs. New York.
2012 -- Howard signs with Lakers
After eight seasons with the Magic, Howard reiterated his desire to be traded. When the Nets and Magic could not come to terms on a trade, Howard found a new with the Los Angeles Lakers.
2012 -- Rough start in L.A.
Howard's first season wit the Lakers was shaky in the beginning, as he dealt with back and shoulder injuries.
