I was very happy with thedemeanor and with the fight of our guys. Philadelphiaplayed well tonight, but we are feeling well coming out with the three points. We knew they were going to throw a lot of people forward and we felt therewould be some chances to have one-on-ones and two-on-twos. But you have to makesure you put those chances in and although we didnt have many, wecapitalized on those, so well take it.On Jon Buschs performance:
Jon had an outstanding gamefor us this evening and he is a quality goalkeeper who has been in this leaguefor a number of years. When we had the opportunity to acquire him, it was aneasy choice. We have two very good goalkeepers, Jon is playing well now and wehave Joe Cannon who is a very good goalkeeper, so we are a little blessed atthat position. Tonight was Jons crowning moment, and hopefully hecontinues to do well.SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES GOALKEEPER JON BUSCHOn the result:
In the second half, wedefended well as a team, sometimes you get a little lucky and the ball justhits you, but I did my job tonight. This is what you get paid for, to makesaves and catch crosses. Some games are busy and some arent andIm glad I helped the team to get three points and that is all thatmatters. On his view ofArturo Alvarezs goal:
We have been in the situationbefore where we have been countered at when we pushed a lot of numbers forward, and Ive been that other goalkeeper thinking, oh boy, here theycome. At that point you know that one little miscue takes you fromearning one point to no points. It was nice to see it happen the other way, andI thanked Arty (Alvarez) as soon as I could, because to get that goal againstthe run of play was huge. It shows what this team is about. Its a mentality. We are going to fight, scratch, scrap and I cant say enough about Ike(Opara), Bobby (Burling), Jason (Hernandez) and Rams (Ramiro Corrales), theywere doing the dirty work, blocking shots all over the place. And itwasnt just them. The midfielders did a hell of a job tonight and it wasgreat to get the goal and take the three points.SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES FORWARD ARTURO ALVAREZOn the win:
If it wasnt for (Jon)Busch, we wouldnt have been in it. Yes Im happy to score thewinning goal, but without him, it would have been a different story. This is ahuge win for us on the road. It definitely feels good to come in here and comeup with three points and hopefully we can turn things around after this win. Wehave a tough game coming up at LA in a couple of weeks and we are just going tokeep working and keep believing in ourselves and really, anything canhappen. On scoring thegame-winner:
When I received the ball fromBobby (Convey) and saw that it was a one-on-one, I decided to take my chanceand go at him. I created some space and got a shot on goal, Im just gladit went in. When I let go of the shot, I knew it was going in the goal, I hadSeitz beat and its a huge win for us. This is exactly what we neededright now.
