Shoe game strong
There's a colorful Steph Curry coming out to play on Christmas. Wearing his signature Under Armour shoes, the MVP is looking to take down the Cavs in an NBA Finals rematch.
Opposing Curry and the Warriors, is LeBron James with revenge on his mind. LeBron looked to get in the zone before the game while wearing his festive Cavs warmup shirt.
Curry's pregame routine almost gets as much hype as his insane numbers once the game starts. Heading into this Christmas battle, Curry has averaged 31.2 points, 6.3 assists and 5.4 rebounds per game.
Oracle Arena in Oakland is one of the loudest in all of sports. In this highly-anticipated Christmas game, the cheer is aplenty with the crowd rocking. In the last two seasons, the Warriors have only lost two regular season games at home and are on a 31-game winning streak at Oracle.
Love is in the air
Before last season, the Cavaliers formed a new Big Three of LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love. That trio never saw the court vs. the Warriors in the Finals. Love dislocated his shoulder in the first round against the Celtics and has come back strong this season. Through 26 games, Love is averaging 17.5 points and 10.6 rebounds per game.
End of 1st: Warriors 28, Cavaliers 19
At the end of the first quarter, the Warriors led 28-19. Draymond Green was the man in charge for the Warriors with 10 points, six rebounds and three assists.
The Warriors had a brief Christmas scare. In the second quarter, Curry exited with a strained right calf and the Cavs stormed back, taking the lead for a period of time. Curry returned a few minutes later. At the time of his departure, Curry had eight points in 12 minutes played.
Halftime: Warriors 45, Cavaliers 42
After Curry left the game, the Cavs roared back. When he came back, the Warriors retook the lead in a first-half battle. The Warriors were on top by three after two quarters, 45-43. Draymond Green led the Warriors with 12 points, nine rebounds and four assists.
Lately, it seems like a NBA game can't happen without a Drake sighting. Frequently this season, the Toronto rapper has paid homage to Chef Curry at Warriors games, and was spotted courtside vs. the Cavs.
End of 3rd: Warriors 64, Cavaliers 59
Through three quarters, the Warriors were still in a tightly contested battle with the Cavs. Raising their lead to five points, Curry dropped in five points of his own. Draymond Green was the top scorer with 16 points, but Curry was right behind at 15 himself.
FINAL: Warriors 89, Cavaliers 83
This hyped up Christmas showdown was more than advertised. The two teams went back and forth all game long, with the Warriors coming out on top, 89-83. Leading the way was forward Draymond Green. The ultra-versatile Green scored 22 points, grabbed 15 rebounds, and dished seven assists.
