The Giants have designated Bill Hall for assignment, the team announced Thursday morning.

Hall had been on the 15-day DL with a leg laceration. He batted .158 (6 for 38) in 16 games with the Giants.
The second baseman was acquired after starter Freddy Sanchez sustained a dislocated shoulder that put him on the 60-day DL.
