SAN DIEGO (APCSN) -- The Giants have activated closer Brian Wilson from the disabled list.

Wilson strained a muscle in his left side March 17 during a spring game. Wilson led the majors with 48 saves last season for the World Series champions.

"I feel good. I've been working on my back here for about six weeks," Wilson said. "Everything seems to be better, actually.

"Not that I was excited or happy about being on the DL but I think what it did is it allowed myself to learn the limitation of my body, change a few things in the workout, get more flexibility, range of motion. Obviously I'm real excited today."

Wilson said that he will continue his rehab routine on a daily basis to avoid another episode with the oblique muscle.

"I think we're just going to continue it and treat it like it's injured all the time, that way (it's) preventative maintenance," Wilson said.

To make room for Wilson, the Giants placed right-hander Santiago Casilla on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to Friday, with an inflamed right elbow.
