Giants Won't Open 2011 Season in Taiwan

A plan to have the San Francisco Giants and Arizona Diamondbacks open the 2011 regular season in Taiwan has fallen through, according to an MLB.com report.The NL West opponents were set to play two exhibition games and two regular season games in Taiwan in late March before returning to Arizona to finish Spring Training."We were informed that a deal couldn't be pulled together at this time," Diamondbacks spokesperson Shaun Rachau told MLB.comWith the plan scrapped, the Giants will now open the regular season on April 1 against the Dodgers in Los Angeles.
