Brandon Crawford exits game vs Dodgers after collision with Gorkys Hernandez

LOS ANGELES -- A nasty collision in shallow left field knocked the Giants' All-Star shortstop out of the game Monday night.

Brandon Crawford and Gorkys Hernandez ran into each other while chasing a Clayton Kershaw pop-up in the bottom of the fourth inning at Dodger Stadium, and while both players took their at-bats in the top of the fifth, Crawford did not return to his position in the bottom of that inning.

Crawford's head appeared to hit Hernandez's midsection as they collided, with both players going down. Crawford was aware enough to track the ball down and throw Clayton Kershaw out at third, and he walked off the field quickly. He went straight to the on-deck circle but was pulled shortly after.

Hernandez was down for a while but eventually walked off with a trainer. He also hit in the top of the next inning and he stayed in the game.
