Rookie Derek Law was right in the middle of the Giants' ninth-inning meltdown Tuesday night.
Brought in to start the ninth, Law gave up a single to Kris Bryant and was immediately pulled from the game by Bruce Bochy.

A day later, Law took to Twitter to thank the Giants' fans, express his emotion over the loss and congratulate the Cubs on their win.
"Thank you Giants fans for all your support and making this year a memorable rookie season. From the debut and all the way through, I now understand fully what it means to be a Giant! You truly are the best fans in all of baseball! This one stings more than usual, but best part of falling down so hard is knowing there is always a next season to get back up, dust yourself off and do it all over again! Best of luck to the Cubs the rest of the way! I've gained a ton of respect for their team throughout this whole series and it's hard as a fan of the game to not admire their will to win. To the Cubbie faithful, I've been getting some wrath from you guys the past two days, but that's what makes sports so special. Without the love/hate passion from fans so invested in the game, the sport just wouldn't be the same. Until next year, believe that orange towel will be ready to wave."
In 61 games during the 2016 regular season, Law posted a 2.13 ERA and 50 strikeouts in 55 innings. He allowed one earned run in 2.1 innings over three postseason games.
