SAN FRANCISCO -- The last time the Giants faced Clayton Kershaw, they finally were able to topple him. It was Brett Pill who cast the smooth stone with a two-run home run in a 2-1 victory at Dodger Stadium on May 8.
Pill is in the minor leagues, but Brandon Belt is finally giving the Giants consistent production at first base. He's in the lineup as Ryan Vogelsong will attempt to outpitch Kershaw for the second time this season.
Kershaw doesn't mind pitching in the shadow of the big soda bottle. He has won four consecutive starts at AT&T Park, and in six career outings, he is 4-1 with a 0.45 ERA (two earned runs, 39.2 innings) here.
