Just hours after signing left-handed reliever Javier Lopez to a new two-year deal worth 8.5 million, the Giants spent another 5 million on Jeremy Affeldt's club option for 2012."Black and orange one more year. Excited to be in uniform and be around so many awesome fans," Affeldt tweeted Sunday.

Affeldt was one of the best left-handed set-up men in the game in 2009, posting a 1.73 ERA in 74 appearances, which earned him a new two-year contract to stay with San Francisco. However, he posted a 4.14 ERA in 2010 before bouncing back with a 2.63 ERA in 2011.The Giants had to choose on Sunday between a 500,000 buyout or a 5 million option on Affeldt. With Affeldt and Lopez now under contract, the Giants can turn their attention to the 13 arbitration-eligible players on their roster.
