SAN FRANCISCO -- Giants ace Tim Lincecum, who can become a free agent when his current two-year deal ends after the 2013 season, said Friday he would like to stay with San Francisco for his whole career.
The two-year contract says nothing about not wanting to be here or not wanting to be a Giant, Lincecum said at the team's media day. Id love to be a Giant my whole career.
Lincecum, 27, went 13-14 with a 2.74 earned-run average in 2011. He agreed to a two year, 40.5 million deal in January to avoid arbitration.

Lincecum said that when it comes to a long-range view he's "never been a guy who could make a plan four years from now."
Last season was his first with a losing record, in large part due to the Giants' historic offensive struggles. San Francisco scored no runs while he was in the game in seven of 33 starts, had one run six times and two runs five times, according to STATS LLC.
He earned 13.1 million last season when he completed a two-year deal worth 23.2 million.
The two-time Cy Young Award winner was the winning pitcher in the Game 5 World Series clincher at Texas in 2010.

In five seasons with the Giants, he has a career record of 69-41, a 2.98 ERA with 1,127 strikeouts.
Lincecumthe 10th overall draft pick out of Washington in 2006has been an All-Star in each of the past four seasons.
