Posey among five finalists for NL MVP Award

Giants' catcher Buster Posey has been named one of five finalists for the National League's Most Valuable Player award, Major League Baseball announced Wednesday.

Posey led all of baseball with a .336 batting average to go along with a team-high 24 home runs and 103 RBIs and helped the Giants to a NL West title.

Posey was awarded the National League Rookie of the Year award in 2010, the Comeback Player of the Year award in 2012 and has already hoisted two World Series trophies in his young career.

The four other finalists for the award are the Pirates' Andrew McCutchen, the Cardinals' Yadier Molina, the Padres' Chase Headley and the reigning MVP, Brewers' Ryan Braun.

The NL MVP Award will be announced next Thursday, Nov. 15.
