With the addition of Angel Pagan Tuesday, the Giants have added two outfielders this offseason.

Wednesday, general manager Brian Sabean clarified the future of two others. The Giants do not plan on returning Carlos Beltran or Cody Ross, Sabean announced at the Winter Meetings in Dallas.

"Simply put," Sabean said, "With Ross, we could never get on the same page. And Beltran, we knew it was going to be a stretch."

The news comes two days after Ross told CSNBayArea.com, "The Giants are my number one choice."

Ross hit .240 for the Giants in 2011 with 14 home runs.

Beltran was acquired from the Mets for pitching prospect Zack Wheeler last season. He played 44 games with the Giants, hitting .323 with seven home runs.
