Selig neutral on Bonds working for Giants

Barry Bonds made it clear that he'd like to rejoin the Giants in an official capacity during a recent conversation with reporters at AT&T Park.

He said he knows how to "fix" struggling starter Tim Lincecum, and indicated he wanted to help the team as a roving instructor.

Baseball's all-time home run king also said he'd discussed joining the club in a to-be-determined role with Giants CEO Larry Baer.

What does commissioner Bud Selig think about the prospect of Bonds donning Orange & Black again?

Given Bonds' felony conviction earlier this year and what many perceive to be Selig's strategic indifference toward the former Giant, many in the media were curious what official response baseball leadership would have.

Predictably, someone asked about it before Tuesday night's All-Star Game.

While speaking to the Baseball Writers Association of America in Kansas City Selig was asked about Bonds, and according to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports "Selig audibly groaned" as the question was posed.

When asked if he would have a problem with the Giants hiring Bonds, Selig said: That's between Mr. Bonds and the San Francisco Giants.
