Stow has trach removed, big weekend

Six months after Giants fan Bryan Stow was severely beaten outside Dodger Stadium, his family released an update on their website that continued the trend of positive news.

Stow finally had the tube removed following his tracheotomy procedure, and "the site has closed and headed." He continues to speak with a stronger and clearer voice.

The positive medical update comes after an eventful weekend for Stow.

Bruce Bochy visited Stow for 45 minutes Saturday, telling Stow he wanted him at Spring Training in 2012. As Bochy was leaving, Stow said, "Bye. I love you." Bochy returned the sentiment.

A day later, Stow was visited by his favorite band, Queensryche.

When family members told Stow that thousands of people were looking forward to him throwing out the ceremonial first pitch in 2012, Stow said, "I'm there."
