The Sacramento Kings have signed Marcus Thornton to a five-year, 40 million deal, according to a league source.
In 27 games with the Kings last year, Thornton averaged just over 21 points per game, after being traded from New Orleans to Sacramento for forward Carl Landry.
The 2008-2009 SEC Player of the Year at LSU was drafted by the New Orleans Hornets in the 2nd round of the 2009 NBA Draft.

Thornton joins a backcourt with Tyreke Evans, John Salmons, and Jimmer Fredette.
