USA Basketball not happy with Kings' Cousins

DeMarcus Cousins has made his fair share of waves with the Sacramento Kings.

Now he's apparently making them at Team USA basketball camp as well.

Cousins is a part of the "USA Select" team, essentially a practice squad for the London-bound Olympic team that includes the likes of LeBron James, Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony. It appears that several players on the Olympic team, as well as USA Basketball President Jerry Colangelo, did not take kindly to Cousins' physical play.

According to Sacramento Kings reporter Sean Cunningham, Paul said following practice that "Luckily in the NBA you get 6 fouls, cuz out here (Cousins) woulda' fouled out a long time ago."

Anthony said that Cousins "fould the s--- outta everyone."

But it was Colangelo who had the harshest words.

"Show respect to players, and you get respect back," Colangelo said. He needs to mature as a person, as a player if hes going to have an outstanding NBA career. So before theres discussion about him being part of our program, he has a lot of building to do.

"He has a lot of growing up to do."

Kurt Helin of ProBasketballTalk points out that while Cousins appears to have a good relationship with Kings coach Keith Smart, this is USA Basketball -- "The big boys," where Cousins could be in for some "tough love."

Cousins had said during the season he thought he would make the London team, and he still has a chance. But USA coach Mike Krzyzewski is a team chemistry kind of guy, and if Cousins is disrupting that...
