2011-12 Bowl Schedule
Stanford has accepted an invitation to play Oklahoma State in the Fiesta Bowl. Sources told CSNBayArea.com of the decision before the Bowl Championship Series matchups became official.
It will mark the second straight Bowl Championship Series appearance for the Cardinal, who defeated Virginia Tech in the Orange Bowl at the conclusion of the 2010 season.
"We are excited to compete against Oklahoma State University and we look forward to a great game," Stanford athletic director Bob Bowlsby said in a statement.

The game will be played on Jan. 2 and is the first meeting between the schools.
The matchup features a pair of top-flight quarterbacks in Andrew Luck and the Cowboys' Brandon Weeden.
There was a possibility that Oklahoma State would be selected over Alabama to face No. 1 LSU for the national title on Jan. 9 in New Orleans. But the Cowboys lost to Iowa State, a defeat that they could not overcome in the BCS rankings.
