A's notes: Braden's surgery re-scheduled

OAKLAND -- A's left-hander Dallas Braden will undergo re-scheduled surgery Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in New York to repair a tear in the capsule of his throwing shoulder.Braden was initially supposed to go under the knife Monday, but the A's said his American Airlines flight on Sunday was cancelled.Braden, 27, last pitched on April 16 and was initially diagnosed with inflammation. But after second and third opinions, he decided to undergo the procedure with New York Mets surgeon Dr. David Altchek.

Closer Andrew Bailey (forearm strain) will make his second appearance in a minor league extended spring training game in Arizona on Tuesday. The two-time All-Star, who went on the disabled list in spring training, pitched in Arizona on Saturday.Right-hander Rich Harden (pitching shoulder tightness) has yet to play catch but is doing strengthening exercises and is "feeling better," said A's manager Bob Geren.Utility player Adam Rosales (fractured right foot) has a doctor's appointment scheduled for Wednesday to take an updated CT scan, "to see how his foot is healing," Geren said.If he Rosales is cleared, he would be sent to Arizona immediately to play in minor league extended spring training games.
