Carson Palmer is ready to roll

ALAMEDA -- Talk about your cram sessions.Carson Palmer has been a member of the Raiders for more than two weeks now and, well, let the new Oakland quarterback explain his current comfort level wit the team.
"There's no comparison this week to last Wednesday," Palmer said. "I am comfortable with the entire playbook, comfortable with the guys, comfortable with the snap count, where to stand in the huddle. Every little bit that I've been around here, every second that I've had, I just learn more and more."Trying to compare this Wednesday to last, there's just no comparison."That's a far cry from his debut, when he played, to his self-described surprise, five days after his acquisition from Cincinnati and knew "three or four protections" and threw three interceptions in the second half against Kansas City. That the Raiders' young receivers stayed in the East Bay over the bye weekend to work with Palmer should also prove beneficial."It's just good that they're so hungry," Palmer said. "It's guys who don't feel like they've accomplished everything yet and don't feel like they've made it or they've arrived. It's guys that continuously want to be better, want to be helped out, want to be coached and want to work."For them to stick around for me, I appreciate it tremendously and it'll benefit them, myself and the team longterm."But first, there's this matter of the Denver Broncos on Sunday.
