ALAMEDA -- Newly-acquired linebacker Aaron Curry was on the field at the start of practice Friday morning, wearing No. 51.

Special teams were practicing during the 20-minute media window so it was unclear where Curry, the No. 4 overall pick of the 2009 draft, would line up on defense. He was a strong-side linebacker for the Seahawks before losing the starting job to rookie K.J. Wright.

Also, six Raiders were not practicing -- DE Matt Shaughnessy (shoulder), FB Marcel Reece (ankle), TE Richard Gordon (hand), CB's Chris Johnson (hamstring) and Chimdi Chekwa (hamstring) and RB Rock Cartwright (calf).

The Raiders still had yet to announce a corresponding roster move for the inclusion of Curry, though linebacker Bruce Davis Jr. tweeted Thursday he was being let go.
