Free agent cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, the former Cal star who has spent his entire NFL career with the Raiders, has signed a deal with the Eagles.

No contract figures were announced but the NFL Network reported Asomugha will earn up to 60 million over the life of the contract with 25 million guaranteed.

The news came a day after Philadelphia acquired Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie from Arizona for Kevin Kolb.

Asomugha was considered the top cornerback on the free-agent market. He spent eight seasons in Oakland, recording 310 tackles in 122 games, with 11 career interceptions.

Asomugha had no interceptions last season with Oakland but, according to STATS Inc., was targeted on only 33 pass attempts. He allowed only 13 completions for 205 yards and no touchdowns.

Asomugha had eight picks in 2006 and only one in each of the next three seasons. Yet last season he earned his third straight Pro Bowl selection and fourth of his career.

At Cal, Asomugha finished his career with 187 tackles, three sacks, eight interceptions, three touchdowns, 15 pass deflections, two fumble recoveries and a forced fumble in 41 games as a free safety.
