ALAMEDA -- From Day 1, Oakland rookie coach Hue Jackson has insisted he would do whatever it takes to improve his team.
Which has made several Raiders fans nervous, what with the talk of Terrell Owens and his agent Drew Rosenhaus insisting the mercurial receiver is physically ready to play and is reportedly holding a workout in Calabasas on Tuesday morning.

"I'm not actively chasing Terrell Owens, no," Jackson said in his weekly media conference on Monday.
In fact, Jackson said his primary mission is to develop his own talent on hand while fixing the offensive's current woes from within.
"I think now we have some pieces," he added, "and now we just got to go re-piece this thing."
Owens, 37, tore an ACL during the lockout and underwent surgery within the last six months. According to several reports, he will perform agility drills and run routes in his workout.

Asked if the Raiders would have scouts at the workout, Jackson shrugged.
"Honestly, I didn't even know he was working out tomorrow," Jackson said. "And, I'm sure, our scouts go and see everybody work out."
The Raiders already seem set at receiver with a young and impressionable group. But Owens does have a history, for better or worse, with new quarterback Carson Palmer. Owens caught 72 passes for 983 yards with nine touchdowns in 14 games for Cincinnati last year.
