On the national stage provided by the bright lights of Monday Night Football.Janikowski's 63-yard field goal to end the first half not only gave the Raiders a 16-3 lead, it also tied for the longest field goal in NFL history. It just cleared the left side of the cross bar as time expired and he leaped into holder Shane Lechlers arms.
New Orleans' Tom Dempsey first reached 63 yards on Nov. 8, 1970 against Detroit.Denver's Jason Elam matched him with a 63-yarder at the old Mile High Stadium on Oct. 25, 1998, against Jacksonville.The left-footed Janikowski's previous record-long was the 61-yarder he converted in Cleveland on Dec. 27, 2009.He also had four touchbacks in the first half against Denver on Monday.
