Raiders quarterback Jason Campbell has tweeted that he and defensive tackle Richard Seymour were in the process of organizing unofficial team workouts with the lockout in full effect at "an undisclosed location."Monday, Campbell told NFL.com that "25 to 30" Raiders players will gather near Atlanta next Monday for a "camp" lasting through Friday.Welcome to Raiders Southeast.
"We could have had more," Campbell told the league's official Web Site, "but the problem is we have something like 25 guys who are free agents, and a lot of them don't know if they're going to be restricted or unrestricted, and those guys don't want to risk anything, and it sounds like they'll just chill."Campbell tweeted photos of himself working out and throwing with receivers Louis Murphy and Darius Heyward-Bey two weeks ago near, according to NFL.com, his offseason home in Northern Virginia.In a work stoppage-free offseason, the Raiders would have already had a mini-camp and started getting ready for OTAs."It's going to be a great chance to build on that camaraderie," Campbell said. "I've been throwing to Murph and some of my receivers up her all offseason, and to get everybody down there will be great."We'll start around 10 every morning and do our workouts and get on the field, and then every night we've got plans for everybody to go out to eat together and just spend time together and bond off the field. We'll have a lot of stuff for the guys to do."Why the ATL? Common sense says because Seymour lives near there.Meanwhile, Raiders receiverkick returner Jacoby Ford tweeted to Michael Bush Monday evening: "I'm leaving tonight to workout with J-Cam and murph in DC. Where u? AZ?"
