Raiders receive extension to avoid blackout

ALAMEDA -- The Raiders have requested, and received, an extension to sell enough tickets to broadcast locally and avoid a blackout in Sunday's home finale against Kansas City.

The only home blackout for Oakland this season was the Dec. 2 game against Cleveland, which snapped a streak of 13 straight televised home games dating back to Dec. 26, 2010, against Indianapolis.

The Raiders (3-10) are mired in a six-game losing streak, while the Chiefs are 2-11. Oakland beat Kansas City at Arrowhead Stadium, 26-16, on Oct. 28. It is the last time the Raiders won a game.

This past summer the Raiders signed up for the NFL's new 85 percent threshold rule, meaning they do not have to sell out every seat in the O.co Coliseum, which has the second-smallest listed capacity in the NFL at 63,132.

Since returning from Los Angeles in 1995, the Raiders have had 63 televised home games with 80 blackouts.

Sunday's game is being broadcasted by CBS, with Kevin Harlan and Solomon Wilcots in the booth. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:25 p.m. PT.
