Report: Gruden adds ex-Packers offensive coordinator to staff

Oakland Raiders head coach Jon Gruden reportedly hired another member of his staff on Friday night, and named Edgar Bennett the team's wide receivers coach, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

Bennett was the Green Bay Packers' offensive coordinator for the last three seasons, and served as the team's wide receivers coach prior to that from 2011-14.

Green Bay was where Gruden met Bennett. Gruden worked as an offensive assistant, and later the wide receivers coach, for the Packers from 1992-94. During that time, Bennett played running back in Green Bay.

Bennett is the fourth coach Gruden has hired since taking over in Oakland. At his introductory press conference on Tuesday, Gruden announced Matt Olson would serve as the team's offensive coordinator, Paul Guenther as the defensive coordinator, and Rich Bisaccia as special teams coordinator.

The team is also expected to retain assistant receivers coach Nick Holz, according to ESPN's Paul Gutierrez.
