To those of you not familiar with the inner workings of Swedish hockey, thats a second tier league to the Swedish Elite League, which is not accepting locked out NHLers.

For Murray, its a return to his roots as the Swedish-born defenseman played for Djugardens junior team in 1996-97. He came to North America the following year, eventually spending four years at Cornell University.

Murray joins Logan Couture and Joe Thornton (Switzerland), Jason Demers (Finland) and Michal Handzus (Slovakia) as Sharks that have committed to playing abroad while the NHLs doors remain closed.
