Draymond asked about LeBron's legacy: ‘He just can't have this ring'

How close is LeBron James to staking the claim as the greatest basketball player ever?

Draymond Green and Steph Curry were recently asked that question on "Good Morning America."

"It don't really matter ... he can have that title, he just can't have this ring," Draymond answered, followed by subsequent laughter. "That's our goal. Our goal isn't to make everyone say, 'Hey LeBron isn't the greatest player of all time.'"

In the Cavs' Game 5 win over the Celtics in the East Finals, LeBron passed Michael Jordan to become the all-time leader in playoff points.

It doesn't make much sense to discuss "legacies" in the middle of a player's career, but...

- LeBron's resume: 3x champion, 3x Finals MVP, 4x regular season MVP, 13x All-Star, 11x All-NBA First Team, 5x All-Defense First Team
- Michael Jordan's resume: 6x champion, 6x Finals MVP, 5x regular season MVP, 14x All-Star, 10x All-NBA First Team, 9x All-Defense First Team

"As a peer, he's had an amazing career as he's still doing amazing things," Draymond added. "The only thing I care about is they can't say 'LeBron is a 2017 NBA champion' ... we want a championship."
