Durant ejected in his return, Rockets officially No. 1 seed over Warriors
Warriors beaten down by Bucks
OAKLAND -- Kevin Durant and Draymond Green returned to the Warriors on Thursday, but only Green managed to stick around for the full game.
With Durant getting ejected late in the first half, the Warriors were no match for the Milwaukee Bucks and wound up with a 116-107 loss.
Five Warriors scored in double figures, led by a career-high 30 points from Quinn Cook. Pat McCaw and JaVale McGee scored 12 apiece, Durant had 10 and Green totaled 11 points, six assists and five rebounds.
In losing their third in a row and seventh in the last 10 games, the Warriors (54-21) surrendered 23 points off 19 turnovers, with 21 of the points coming in the first half. The loss officially locks them into the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference and the Rockets as the No. 1 seed.
Though no one played particularly well during the crucial points of the game, Green’s presence was felt in some positive ways as he shook off some of the rust from having not played since March 19.
Green’s line: 11 points (4-of-7 from the field, 1-of-2 from beyond the arc, 2-of-2 from the line), six assists, five rebounds, two steals and one block. He played 28 minutes and finished minus-6
Cook scored 17 of his 30 points in the fourth quarter, when the game was fairly out of reach for the Warriors.
Veteran forward/center David West scored 8 points to go over the 14,000 mark with 14,002.
After the Warriors took a 47-44 lead on a 3-pointer by Cook with 3:20 left in the second quarter, the Bucks responded with a 14-2 run to take a 58-49 lead into the locker room.
Milwaukee took complete control in the third quarter, going up 20 (81-61) with 5:02 left and taking a 92-72 lead into the fourth quarter.
Warriors in game: Andre Iguodala (left knee soreness) left with 2:14 remaining in the third quarter and did not return.
