Ellis' status up in air for Monday's game

PHOENIX-- The Warriors have been inconsistent at home, and now its time to play onthe road. They open up a three-game trip in Phoenix Monday afternoon. Thatsright, afternoon. The game against the Suns is a 12:30 start.

TheWarriors departed the Bay Area after practice on Sunday afternoon without shooting guard MontaEllis, who attended the funeral of his grandmother on Saturday in Mississippi. The Warriorssaid they expect Ellis to join the team in Phoenix, but that doesntnecessarily mean in time for the game.TheWarriors are remaining in Phoenix overnight on Monday and then staying forpractice on Tuesday. After practice Tuesday, theyll head to San Antonio for agame against the Spurs on Wednesday and then its the Lakers onFriday.Warriorscoach Mark Jackson said he hopes to get Ellis back, but if he doesnt, he doesnt.Thebottom line is we are really are sincere for him to take as much time aspossible, Jackson said. We understand his loss and what he is going throughand were there for him.AlthoughEllis backcourt mate Stephen Curry is listed as day-to-day with a sprainedright ankle, he is expected to play Monday. Curry was wearing new shoes forSaturdays game against Philly and afterward said the ankle held upfine.
