OAKLAND – Eager to make a better showing than in their preseason opener, the Warriors came out Tuesday night and lit up the Clippers.

Shooting guard Klay Thompson put in a game-high 30 points and forward Kevin Durant, making his Oracle debut as a Warrior, totaled 21, to lead a 120-75 romp over Los Angeles before a delighted sellout crowd.

Stephen Curry rounded out the home team’s top scorers, tossing in 14 points and adding five assists, three rebounds and three steals.

With the Warriors leading 89-38 and 6:09 remaining in the third quarter, coach Steve Kerr pulled his starters, who spent the rest of the night stifling laughter from the bench.

Marreese Speights, the popular former Warrior who in the offseason signed with the Clippers, received a video tribute and a standing ovation. Playing 18 minutes off the bench, he led the LA with 14 points.

STANDOUT PERFORMERS:
Durant and Thompson took care of the scoring, while Draymond Green delivered a bit of everything: 8 points, nine rebounds (team-high), five assists and one steal. He was plus-45 in 22 minutes.

NOTABLE STAT LINES:
Durant: 21 points (6-of-10 from the field, 3-of-4 beyond the arc, 6-of-6 from the line), seven rebounds, seven assists (team-high), two blocks and one steal in 25 minutes.

Thompson: 30 points (10-of-14, 6-of-9, 4-of-4) in 22 minutes.

Rookie Patrick McCaw: 7 points (2-of-4, 1-of-2, 2-of-2) in 19 minutes.

INJURY UPDATE:
Warriors: F Kevon Looney (L groin strain) was listed as doubtful, ruled out before tipoff and is not listed as day-to-day. C Damian Jones (R pectoral surgery) and G Elliot Williams (R knee surgery) were listed as out.

Clippers: No injuries listed.

WHAT’S NEXT:
The Warriors return to action Thursday night against the Sacramento Kings at SAP Center in San Jose, in the third of seven preseason games. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30.
