Most sports movies follow the same formula to emphasize a dramatic in-game scene.
The referee flips the ball to the main character at the line in slow motion. He grabs it, dribbles twice, spins the basketball in his hands and glances towards the stands at his parents or love interest. All the while, the only sound viewers hear is the basketball hitting the hardwood and the character's deep breaths.
Well, that standard Hollywood scene quite literally is what James Wiseman experienced during a pair of free-throw attempts in the Warriors’ 104-95 preseason victory over the Washington Wizards on Sunday at Saitama Super Arena in Japan.

As Wiseman toed the free-throw line, all that could be heard in the arena was the announcer saying, "James Wiseman to the line for two shots," and a distant, "go Warriors!"
Like a true professional, Wiseman nailed both free-throw attempts, met by polite applause from the Saitama Super Arena crowd that was full of Warriors fans.
Wiseman was the star of Golden State's preseason opener, going off for a game-high 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting and grabbing nine rebounds. He followed it up with six points and three boards in 18 minutes on Sunday.

The silent treatment at the charity stripe treated Wiseman well, as he nailed 7 of 10 attempts from the free-throw line in the pair of games in Japan.

Wiseman and the Warriors are flying back home Sunday and will have one week to prepare for their next preseason clash -- a home matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers at Chase Center next Sunday.
